pediatric dentistry

Our primary goal as Pediatric Dentists is to provide treatment for your child in a caring and loving environment. We will treat your children as if they were our own.

Young or fearful children cannot comfortably lay in a dental chair for a dental restoration. To help these patients we offer oral sedation or general anesthesia in our office.

At your child’s examination appointment all treatment options will be discussed. We encourage your questions and hope to be able to answer them to your satisfaction.

Our office now offers an alternative to stainless steel crowns for posterior (back) primary molars.  Dr. Hodges and Dr. Ramos have used esthetic white crowns on primary anterior (front) teeth for many years.  Unfortunately, up to now, there was not a good quality white crown for primary posterior molars.

After extensive research we have identified a ceramic white crown for the posterior primary  first molars.  The cost is more than a stainless steel  crown due to the preparation involved, but estethically, it looks beautiful!

Our doctors have a special permit issued by the State of California to administer oral conscious sedation. Oral sedation is a mixture of three prescription formulas taken orally to help one relax but not go to sleep. Most children who drink this small amount of liquid will have a good dental experience.

General anesthesia

Children under three years of age or with special needs often require general anesthesia if they need dental care. We offer in-office general anesthesia. This service is provided by a Certified Pediatric Anesthesiologist.

We also provide dental care under a general anesthetic in the Santa Rosa Surgery Center located in our building.
