Volunteer Positions
Santa Rosa Main Street and other downtown related orgainzations are always recruiting community members to help with downtown events and projects. If you are interested in any of the following, in a large or small role, please contact us and let us know!
Volunteers Needed for SRMS Committees and projects:
- Committee Chair for SRMS Economic Restructuring Committee to lead and organize monthly committee meetings and projects.
- Committee Chair for SRMS Promotions Committee to lead monthly committee meetings and projects.
- Coordinator for "Downtown Community Clean up day" in June.
- Assit in organizing a Broker's Breakfast regarding downtown future downtown developments, desired business mix, SRMS assistance, and more...
- Coordinating the sponsorship (purchase) of photo (ad) space to downtown businesses for Downtown Dining & Entertainment Guide, Retail & Personal Services Guide.
- Coordinate SRMS Annual Breakfast. The goal of this meeting is to unite downtown community and friends of downtown to learn more about downtown projects, future developments, projects underway, and more.
First Friday –the downtown Santa Rosa Art Walk: June 2nd, 2006.
Volunteer Opportunities on event days. (first friday of every month, 5-8pm, June to November)
- Event Coordinator Act as City/Police contact; be available for questions/problems during the event; must have cell phone.
- Contact person for Rosie the Trolley.
- Volunteer coordinator Responsible for volunteer orientation before event; Contact person for volunteer pool- before and also during the event; help check-in volunteers for the event.
- Guest contact Walk around crew Confirm proper setup taking place with merchants and artists; Handout maps and info to the public while walking around; assist Events Coordinator and/or Volunteer Coordinator.
- Musician Event Contact Be available for contact the week prior to and during the event; attend event to ensure setup and compliance with City ordinances (noise level, etc.)
- Floaters Help fill in where assigned volunteers don’t show up
- Booth Set up See Info booth
- Booth Take Down See Info booth
- Info booth crew 2 or more sitters- shifts of 2 hours: 4:00-6:00, & 6:00-8:00. First shift can Set up booth; Second shift can Takedown booth.
- Balloon distribution crew 2 or more people- Pick up balloons, ribbon and helium tank (possibly find a sponsor), distribute balloons to participating merchants on day of event; Responsible for returning empty helium tank.
- Event Photographer Responsible for taking pictures during the event to use for future in media promotions and/or website
- Sign Setup crew Need 2 or more people- Put up directional signs in the area
- Sign Takedown crew Need 2 or more people- Takedown directional signs in the area
