Highway 101 Construction Update: Week of June 11th

Please encourage your employees, customers, friends and family to visit this site and get up to date information on road blockages, detours and current construction stages.

ATTENTION : Please advise your clients, employees, co-workers, friends and family of the following: THE NORTHBOUND HWY 101 THIRD ST. OFF RAMP (to downtown) WILL BE CLOSED, STARTING THIS THURSDAY, JUNE 15th until OCTOBER 15th 2006. (read below for more info.)

June 11, 2006 Update

HWY 101 Widening Project~Information source: Caltrans

------>Third Street Off-ramp to be closed beginning Thursday June 15: Caltrans will close the Third Street off-ramp from northbound Highway 101 on June 15. Please plan your route before leaving to ensure safe and timely travel. Traveling Northbound on 101, you can merge onto CA-12 East, take the E Street exit and travel north to get to downtown Santa Rosa. This closure will last through October 15, 2006. The section of Third Street underneath 101 will remain closed through September 2006.

Steele Lane closures in place: Caltrans has closed four lanes on Steele Lane at the under crossing of Highway 101. Westbound Steele Lane now has one through-lane and one left-turn lane. Likewise, eastbound Steele Lane has one through-lane and one left-turn lane.

College Avenue closures in place: Caltrans closed one-through lane and one left-turn lane on westbound College Avenue. There is one through lane on eastbound College Avenue. All traffic was shifted southward from the work zone at the undercrossing. Please drive carefully and plan extra driving time.

Both the Steele Lane and College Avenue closures and reduced lanes will be in place for nearly two years, as Caltrans works at widening the overpass.

Prince Memorial Greenway (Santa Rosa Creek) work set for June 15. Work is tentatively scheduled for June 15 and will involve the closure of the bicycle path for a period of approximately two years. Signs will direct pedestrians and bicyclists to the pedestrian overcrossing.


Other Construction Projects in Santa Rosa:

  • Aston, Linwood, and Meda intersection closed through week of June 12
    Fountaingrove Parkway at Stagecoach Road: Traffic signal installation. Traffic control 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. through August.
  • Summerfield Road (Sonoma to Bethards): Water transmission main replacement. Traffic control 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. through August.
  • West Steele Lane between Marlow Road and Coffey Lane: Intermittent lane closures due to sewer improvements and street reconstruction. Traffic control 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.
